Established in 2012, InterTrader is a regulated CFD and spread betting broker, offering financial services to retail traders in South Africa and all over the globe. InterTrader provides affordable, no-dealing desk trading, with competitive spreads on a web-based platform or the MT4 download platform. Moreover, as a 100% market neutral broker, InterTrader does not have any conflict of interest with its clients. CryptoCurrency CFDs are an important new feature at InterTrader with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple and Bitcoin Cash among the assets available for trading without having to own them. InterTrader Special Features
Customers at InterTrader can choose from an MT4 trading account or a web-based platform account. Both require a minimum initial deposit of £100 and give access to a broad range of assets including cryptocurrency CFDs, currency pairs and CFDs in commodities, indices and stocks. The spreads in the MT4 account are generally lower than the proprietary web trading account by around 0.3 pips. On the other hand, the lowest available margin rates on the MT4 account are much higher than its counterpart.
Importantly, the web trading account includes the attractive Tradeback feature not offered to MT4 account holders. With the TradeBack rebate program, customers can get back from 5-10% of the spread paid every month, after a pre-determined trading volume is reached at InterTrader. However, the Tradeback program is only available to traders classed as professional clients. These are individuals who have account portfolios at InterTrader of more than £500,000 and can prove that they have worked in the financial services industry for more than one year.
Both InterTrader accounts offer customers daily market news, an economic calendar, Forex news from top-tier sources, free signals from AutoChartist and Trading Central, as well as access to social trading. Notably, all account holders at InterTrader can access online webinars and enjoy the educational materials provided by InterTrader. From time to time, InterTrader may offer promotional bonuses subject to terms and conditions. We recommend that traders read the bonus conditions carefully before accepting the offers as they can cause frustration and disappointment if the conditions are not fulfilled in the time set by the broker.
InterTrader Demo Account
The MT4 and the web-based account at InterTrader, both provide Demo accounts for risk-free practice trading. In our experience, traders who prepare for real money trading by taking full advantage of a demo account, can expect to make greater investment profits faster. The pressure-free trading environment lets clients test the various features on the trading platforms, and discover trading strategies that can be transferred to live trading situations.
InterTrader Trading Software
Customers registering an account with InterTrader can choose to trade on the MT4 platform, or the web-based platform developed exclusively for InterTrader. The powerful MT4 platform requires download to a desktop computer whilst the web trading platform is conveniently accessible through the browser of any internet connected device. Customers interested in the latest ‘fashion’ of automated social trading can sign up to the ZuluTrade platform.

InterTrader Support Information
Customer care is provided Monday to Friday, 24 hours a day by InterTrader. Traders can phone the UK number on the contact page, send an email or simply use the live chat helpline on the interface. In order to initiate the live chat service, customers must give a name and email address. We prefer the anonymous live chat service offered by some brokers, as customers don’t like getting follow up emails. For traders in South Africa, the most economical method is the live chat or email, as phoning the UK is very expensive.
Additional support is provided through the ‘Smart Trader’ blog on the InterTrader website and the comprehensive FAQs page. A glossary of financial jargon is conveniently provided along with free access to live trading webinars for registered customers, whether they live in South Africa or elsewhere.
InterTrader Payment Methods
Customers registering an account with InterTrader are given a broad range of payment methods to fund their accounts. These are popular credit/debit cards, Skrill and bank wire transfer. Customers in South Africa can expect to see some local payment methods on the list of payment method options. Trading accounts can be maintained in GBP, EUR, PLN and USD, with deposits in other currencies converted to one of the four base currencies. The minimum deposit made the first time around to a new trading account is 100 EUR, PLN, GBP or USD and subsequent deposits must be at least 50 units of the currency chosen to maintain the trading account. Deposits made from Skrill wallets to InterTrader are charged a 3% processing fee. There is a minimum 50 EUR, GBP, USD, PLN withdrawal limit at InterTrader as long as the funds are not supporting an open position on the trading platform.
Notably, in accordance with international anti-money laundering laws, InterTrader must return customers’ funds to their original source. We were pleased to see that withdrawal requests are done directly from the web-based trading platform in the ‘my account’ area and are processed within one working day. Usually, withdrawals to Skrill take 24 hours and to credit cards and bank transfers, 3-5 days. A fee of 5 GBP is charged on withdrawal amounts of less than 1,000 GBP, EUR, PLN or USD. However, it’s important to realise that additional transaction fees may be charged by the payment service provider, that are beyond the control of InterTrader.
InterTrader is the trading name of InterTrader Ltd, regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission and by the FCA in the UK, reference 597312. The company is registered to Suite 6, Atlantic Suites, Europort Avenue, Gibraltar. InterTrader Ltd is owned by GVC Holdings PLC. Importantly, customers of InterTrader, are covered by the Gibraltar Investor Compensation Scheme for up to €20,000 in case of the company failing.
